Posters Dunkirk
Dunkirk as seen by our artists: the belfry above the town, the port cranes and the beach along the North Sea. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.
Choosing your Dunkirk poster
Which Dunkirk poster should you choose?
Dunkirk comes in several quite distinct registers, and the carnival dominates the searches by far:
- Dunkirk carnival poster: bands, feather masks, hats and procession through the streets.
- Dunkirk carnival poster with a year edition: a specific year to mark a carnival lived through.
- Dunkirk seaside poster: beach, sea wall and pier, in a blue and grey palette.
- Dunkirk city poster: belfry, port and architecture, for a more urban view.
- Dunkirk map-style poster: a clean, graphic reading of the city.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by size.
Where should you hang a Dunkirk poster?
- Living room: a Dunkirk carnival poster in a large size, for a wall that tells a story of celebration.
- Entrance or hallway: a view of the city or the belfry, to set the tone from the doorstep.
- Bedroom: a Dunkirk seaside view, in calm tones.
- Office or dining room: a black and white carnival poster, more understated for everyday life.
- Kitchen: a small format tied to the carnival, for a touch of colour without overloading the wall.
Dunkirk carnival poster: crowd scene or single portrait?
A crowd scene captures the scale of the procession and the density of the band, with its blended colours and its movement. A single portrait, one mask or one hat alone, brings out a detail of the costume and hangs more easily in a tight space. The large size serves the collective scene, the small size serves the detail. The choice depends above all on the wall space available rather than on the subject itself.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
