Posters greece

Greece seen by our artists: whitewashed villages with blue domes, cliff roads above the sea, olive trees and ancient columns. Each poster is a personal reading of Greece, hand-printed on 270 g photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our studio in Fayence.

Choosing your Greece poster

Which Greece poster should you choose?

Greece comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same thing:

  • Santorini poster: blue domes, white facades, the sea below.
  • Vintage Greece poster: travel advertisements, old lettering, ferries and period airlines.
  • Ancient Greece poster: temples, columns, statuary, archaeological ruins.
  • Islands and Cyclades: white lanes, blue shutters, stairs and bougainvillea.
  • Aegean Sea: rocky coasts, coves, Mediterranean light.
  • Greece wall poster: maps and overall views, for a room that needs a landmark.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Greece poster?

  • Living room: a view of Santorini in a large size, to open the room onto the horizon.
  • Bedroom: the whites and blues of the Cyclades, a palette that rests the eye.
  • Kitchen: a seaside scene or a busy lane, close to the idea of a holiday.
  • Office: a vintage or ancient poster, plainer, which holds up day after day.
  • Entrance: what sets the tone of a journey straight away.

Vintage or ancient Greece poster?

  • Vintage evokes the journey: company posters, lettering, the promise of departure.
  • The ancient evokes history: columns, temples, a more mineral and timeless Greece.
  • On a contemporary wall, vintage marries more easily with vivid colours.
  • The ancient, more sculptural, lends itself to plain interiors, in black and white or stone tones.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
