Choosing your Liverpool poster
What does our Liverpool poster show?
One poster makes up this section. It shows the red brick warehouses of the docks, the port architecture that made the city: massive facades, rows of windows, the material of the brick. This is not a city-centre view, it is the harbour and its industrial fabric.
Which wall colour for a Liverpool poster?
- Red brick sits well on a white, light grey or beige wall, and clashes with a red or orange one.
- On a deep blue or fir green wall the brick comes forward and the image gains contrast.
- A thin black frame suits the industrial register; light wood softens it and brings it closer to a domestic interior.
- Living room, study and a teenager's room all work: it is a plain image, without sentimentality.
Which size should you choose?
- 30x40 for a study, where the grid of windows alone structures the wall.
- 50x70 for a living room or bedroom: the material of the brick becomes perceptible.
- 70x100 when the facade must occupy the wall like a wall in its own right.
An image about material is judged from close up: hang it within reach of the eye, not above a tall piece of furniture.
How are these posters printed?
Each poster is printed to order in our workshop in Grasse, on 220 gsm fine art paper with an anti-glare satin finish, using low-emission inks. It comes in 21x30, 30x40, 50x70 and 70x100 cm, on its own or with its frame.
