New York as seen by our artists: Manhattan against the light, skyscrapers and steel bridges, yellow cabs and steam rising from the sidewalks. Each poster is a personal reading of the city, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with a satin anti-glare finish in our studio in Grasse.

Choosing the right poster

New York is treated here through its lines rather than its landmarks: skyscrapers shot from below, fire escapes, bridges, the grid of avenues and taxis. Treatments range from photographic black and white to art deco flat colour.

This is a city that calls for the vertical format, because that's how it's seen. A horizontal skyline works too, but it needs the 70x100 for the towers to stay readable.

These posters pair well with an industrial interior or an office, and they can handle a dark wall, which is rare in the catalogue.
