Posters Valencia

Valencia as seen by our artists: the orange groves and the white houses at the edge of the city. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your Valencia poster

Which Valence poster should you choose?

  • Vintage Valence poster: travel advertising, period lettering, sepia or pastel palette.
  • Minimalist Valence poster: clean lines, flat colour, the city's silhouette reduced to its essentials.
  • Valence map poster: a plan of the city or the historic centre, the layout of the streets and the Rhône.
  • Peynet Kiosk poster: the kiosk in Jouvet park, floral motif and Belle Époque curves.
  • Maison des Têtes or Saint-Apollinaire cathedral poster: carved facade, close-up architecture.
  • Black and white Valence poster: a graphic shot, without the colour of any particular season.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by monument.

Where should you hang a Valence poster?

  • Living room: a large size, alone above the sofa.
  • Entrance: a Valence map poster, to place the city from the doorstep.
  • Office: a minimalist version, understated next to the screen.
  • Hallway: a series of Valence monuments, same size, to compose a gallery.
  • Bedroom: a black and white Valence poster, calmer than a bright colour.

Tip: a vintage poster pairs well with a thin light wood frame, closer to the spirit of the advertisement than metal.

Historic or contemporary Valence poster?

  • The historic register draws on Maison des Têtes and Saint-Apollinaire cathedral, old stone and carved facades.
  • The contemporary register keeps the Rhône, the redeveloped quays and the simple lines of the city today.
  • A historic poster suits a classic interior, exposed beams or old parquet.
  • A contemporary poster goes better with a white wall and pared-back furniture.

The two registers complement each other in the same hallway: an old monument next to a view of the Rhône tells the city across two eras.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
