Posters casablanca

Casablanca as seen by our artists: wrought-iron balconies, canvases stretched against the sun, turquoise zellige and cream and ochre façades. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.

Choosing your Casablanca poster

What does a Casablanca poster show?

Casablanca is not told through its monuments but through its façades, and that is what our posters go looking for:

  • Wrought-iron balconies, scrolls and lozenges inherited from the thirties.
  • Canvases stretched against the sun, falling back in wide folds over the streets.
  • Turquoise zellige, often flaking, set along the foot of the walls.
  • Cream and ochre renders, cracked by the Atlantic light.
  • Verdigris shutters, the only strong colour on pale walls.

The filters on the left narrow by colour, by room, by style and by density.

Which colours go with a Casablanca poster?

  • Creams and ochres warm a white or linen wall, and sit poorly on an already coloured one.
  • The turquoise of the zellige is enough as the only bright note in a plain room.
  • Verdigris suits dark woods and black metals.
  • On a beige wall, choose a large enough format for the contrast to hold at a distance.

A simple rule: the more neutral the wall, the further the façade carries.

Which size, and where to hang it?

  • An architectural detail needs room. At 50x70 or 70x100 the ironwork keeps its drawing.
  • At 21x30 or 30x40, prefer a wall close to the eye, a hallway or an entrance.
  • A living room takes a large format on its own, with nothing around it.
  • A bedroom suits the cream tones, calmer than a block of colour.

How are these posters printed?

Each poster is printed to order in our workshop in Grasse, on 220 gsm fine art paper with an anti-glare satin finish, using low-emission inks. It comes in 21x30, 30x40, 50x70 and 70x100 cm, on its own or with its frame.
