Posters watercolour

Watercolour as seen by our artists: the transparent washes and the edges that melt away. Each poster is a personal reading of this graphic language, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your watercolour poster

Which watercolour poster should you choose?

Watercolour brings together recognisable styles, carried by the very nature of the paint itself: transparency, drips, pigments that blend into each other.

  • Watercolour flower poster: bouquets, peonies or light branches, diluted strokes and blending edges.
  • Watercolour botanical poster: naturalist plate, a single leaf or flower, precise linework beneath the colour.
  • Watercolour animal poster: bird, fox or hare, a sketched silhouette and pigment that bleeds on purpose.
  • Watercolour landscape poster: mountain, forest or seaside, layered wash gradients.
  • Abstract watercolour poster: free marks and pigments, with no recognisable subject, for a more contemporary read.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by subject and by size.

Where should you hang a watercolour poster?

  • Living room: a large botanical or landscape piece, above the sofa.
  • Bedroom: flowers in soft tones, above the headboard.
  • Dining room: a plant motif, at eye level near the table.
  • Entrance: an abstract composition, for a first impression that draws the eye.
  • Office: an understated botanical plate, next to the screen.

Watercolour poster or giclée print: what is the difference?

A printed watercolour poster reproduces the transparency and the drips of the original without being the painting itself: it is a reproduction, not a one-of-a-kind piece. The quality then rests entirely on the substrate and the print. Our watercolour posters are printed on 270 g photo paper with a semi-matte finish, in sizes 21x30, 30x40, 50x70, 70x100, and as a 101x141 polyptych for the widest compositions.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
