Posters florence

Florence as seen by our artists: the terracotta arcades, the linen hung out to dry and the cypresses in the openings. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.

Choosing your Florence poster

What does our Florence poster show?

One poster makes up this section. It looks at a street from under its arcades, with linen hung out to dry and cypresses in the openings. This is domestic Tuscany rather than the Florence of museums: terracotta, the shade of the porticoes, and the dark verticals of the cypresses at the far end.

Which wall colour for a Florence poster?

  • Terracotta and dark greens go with white, cream and linen walls.
  • On an olive green wall the image blends into the room; on a light wall it keeps its relief.
  • A light or natural wood frame extends the warmth of the terracotta. Black cools it.
  • Living room, bedroom and bathroom all work: it is a calm scene, and it stands the damp of a wet room behind glass.

Which size should you choose?

  • 21x30 and 30x40 for a bathroom or bedroom, alongside other Mediterranean views.
  • 50x70 for a living room: the linen and the cypresses then take on their scale.
  • 70x100 when the poster must hold a light wall on its own.

A street scene gains from being seen head-on and close up: it is the detail of the linen that makes it alive.

How are these posters printed?

Each poster is printed to order in our workshop in Grasse, on 220 gsm fine art paper with an anti-glare satin finish, using low-emission inks. It comes in 21x30, 30x40, 50x70 and 70x100 cm, on its own or with its frame.
