Posters Frankfurt

Frankfurt as seen by our artists: the layout of the city, the curve of the Main and the star-shaped ramparts. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your Frankfurt poster

Which Frankfurt poster should you choose?

Frankfurt comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:

  • Frankfurt skyline poster: the finance towers, seen from the Main or from a bridge.
  • Römerberg poster: the square and its half-timbered houses, red and white gables.
  • Frankfurt map or city plan poster: the Main, the bridges, the districts traced in line.
  • Black and white Frankfurt poster: glass, steel and low sky, marked contrasts.
  • Vintage Frankfurt poster: old advertisements, the book fair, a railway feel.
  • Contemporary Frankfurt poster: flat colour areas, tower silhouettes, a present-day line.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Frankfurt poster?

  • Office: a clean skyline, which suits a working space.
  • Living room: a view of the Main at sunset, alone above the sofa.
  • Entrance: a map of Frankfurt, to place the city from the door.
  • Hallway: a series of three German cities, same size and same frame.
  • Bedroom: a calm view of the river, never a skyline too dense with windows.

Tip: a dense skyline asks for distance. In a narrow room, prefer an architectural detail or a view of the Römerberg.

Frankfurt poster: skyline or old town?

  • The skyline shows the business city: verticals, glass, reflections, density.
  • The Römerberg shows the other Frankfurt: timber framing, gables, human scale.
  • In an office, the skyline agrees with what the room is for, without effort.
  • In a living space, the old town warms the wall where glass would cool it.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
