Posters Langres

Langres as seen by our artists: the ramparts and the town set on its plateau. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your Langres poster

Which Langres poster should you choose?

  • Langres ramparts poster: a ring of towers and curtain walls, a fortified line above the Marne valley.
  • Vintage postcard Langres poster: period lettering, sepia tones, an old-time advertising spirit.
  • Langres Saint-Mammès cathedral poster: classical facade, twin towers, religious heritage register.
  • La Banque Postale Langres poster: the building's facade and frontage, urban architecture register.
  • Minimalist Langres poster: the ramparts' silhouette reduced to its essentials, a single flat colour.
  • Black and white Langres poster: stone and sky in shades of grey, a restrained photographic rendering.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by size.

Where should you hang a Langres poster?

  • Living room: the ramparts in a large size, alone above the sofa.
  • Office: the facade of La Banque Postale, understated next to the screen.
  • Entrance: a view of the cathedral, to set the tone from the doorway.
  • Bedroom: a black and white of the upper town, calming above the bed.
  • Hallway: a series of several views of Langres, in the same size.

Langres poster in colour or in black and white?

Colour brings out the pale stone and the roofs of the upper town, with the light specific to the Haute-Marne. Black and white narrows attention onto the lines of the ramparts and the cathedral, without giving away the season. On a wall already full of colour, black and white calms the room. On a neutral wall, colour carries more of the place's identity.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
