Posters nantes
Nantes as seen by our artists: the Loire quays under heavy skies, the wet cobbles and the soft greys of the estuary. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.
Choosing your Nantes poster
What does our Nantes poster show?
One poster makes up this section. It looks at the quay under a sky of low clouds, the sky of the Loire banks, with the waterline, the facades and the shifting light of the estuary. It is a view of a water city rather than a view of a monument: the quay and the sky are what carry the image.
Which wall colour for a Nantes poster?
- The greys and blues of the sky go with white and light grey walls, and are lost on a blue one.
- On a deep green or anthracite wall the clarity of the sky becomes the luminous element of the room.
- A thin black frame or light wood works. Avoid very warm woods, which contradict the temperature of the image.
- Living room, study and hallway all work: it is a quiet image that does not tire.
Which size should you choose?
- 30x40 for a study or hallway, where the horizon line gives the wall width.
- 50x70 for a living room: the sky needs surface to exist.
- 70x100 when the wall is tall and the scene must be looked at from the far end of the room.
A horizontal view needs width around it: do not wedge it between two tall pieces of furniture.
How are these posters printed?
Each poster is printed to order in our workshop in Grasse, on 220 gsm fine art paper with an anti-glare satin finish, using low-emission inks. It comes in 21x30, 30x40, 50x70 and 70x100 cm, on its own or with its frame.
