The arch comes in several architectural registers, from the oldest to the most contemporary, each bringing a different mood to a wall:

Arch or door poster: what's the difference?
The arch draws an open curve, often repeated in a row within an archway or a cloister; the door isolates a single closed passage, with its frame and handle. An arch poster plays on repetition and perspective, a door poster focuses on a single entry point. It also differs from the staircase, which stages depth and ascent rather than the architectural curve. To compose a series of aligned frames, the arch offers more material than a single door. The vertical format follows the rising line of the arch, while a panoramic format suits a row of archways photographed head-on.
Poster, print or artwork: what's the difference?
The three words describe the same thing here: a printed image you hang on the wall. We call it a poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image also exists on a metal plate, in several sizes.
