Choosing your ceramic poster

Which ceramic poster to choose?

The vase, pitcher and pottery come in several wall registers, from the antique outline to contemporary stoneware:

  • Antique vase poster: Greek or Roman silhouette, clean outline, plain background for a graphic effect.
  • Artisanal pottery: raw stoneware, crackled glaze, earth and sand tones close to studio ceramics.
  • Ceramic still life: pitcher, bowl and vase brought together in one composition, soft light.
  • Japanese ceramics: asymmetrical shapes, wabi-sabi spirit, muted palette between grey and brown.
  • Vase and dried flowers: botanical motif set on simple ceramics, natural and calm register.
  • Minimalist ceramics: single line, flat colour, clean format for a contemporary wall.

Where to hang a ceramic poster?

  • Living room: a large-format antique vase, above the sideboard or the sofa.

Tip: ceramics in earth tones pair well with an off-white or beige wall.

Ceramic poster in colour or minimalist line?

  • Colour renders the material: terracotta, crackled glaze, celadon blue or celadon green.
  • The minimalist line isolates a single vase, without texture or cast shadow, for a clean result.
  • On an already busy wall, the minimalist line calms the composition and lets the space breathe.
  • On a neutral wall, colour carries the ceramic motif and its grain further.

Poster, print or canvas: what's the difference?

These words all describe the same thing here: a printed image you hang on the wall. We call it a poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image also exists on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • Framed: black, white or light oak, mounted and ready to hang.
  • Unframed: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
