Which Rotterdam poster should you choose?
Rotterdam comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:
- Rotterdam skyline poster: the towers at the end of the Maas, glass and steel against the sky.
- Erasmus Bridge poster: the leaning white pylon, the city's most recognisable silhouette.
- Cube houses poster: the yellow cubes tipped onto their corners, seventies architecture.
- Rotterdam map or city plan poster: the river, the port, the districts traced in line.
- Port of Rotterdam poster: cranes, containers, docks, industrial scale.
- Black and white Rotterdam poster: concrete, steel, low sky, dry contrasts.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a Rotterdam poster?
- Office: a clean skyline or a structure, geometric and calm beside the screen.
- Living room: the bridge and the river in a large size, alone above the sofa.
- Entrance: a map of Rotterdam, to place the city from the door.
- Hallway: a series of three Dutch cities, same size and same frame.
- Bedroom: a grey and beige palette, plain, with no hard contrast.
Tip: a skyline is very horizontal and full of thin verticals. It asks for width: above a sofa or a sideboard, never in a narrow recess.

- Architecture keeps the forms: towers, bridge, cubes, frank angles.
- The port keeps the scale: cranes, ships, containers, an industrial horizon.
- On an office wall, architecture reads fast and stays plain.
- In a living room, the port gives depth and takes the very largest size.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
