Choosing your Seville poster

Which Seville poster should you choose?

Seville comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:

  • Giralda poster: the minaret turned bell tower, Seville's most recognisable silhouette.
  • Plaza de España poster: the brick curve, the azulejos, the canal and the bridges.
  • Alcázar and azulejos poster: geometric motifs, horseshoe arches, water courtyards.
  • Seville map or city plan poster: the Guadalquivir, Triana, the districts traced in line.
  • Seville flamenco poster: dress, guitar, movement, the spirit of Andalusian celebration.
  • Andalusia and Seville poster: orange trees, whitewash, a sun and earth palette.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Seville poster?

  • Living room: the Plaza de España in a large size, alone above the sofa.
  • Kitchen: an azulejo motif, graphic and easy on the eye as much as on the wall.
  • Entrance: a map of Seville, to place the city from the door.
  • Bedroom: an ochre and white palette, warm without being loud.
  • Hallway: a series of three Andalusian cities, same size and same frame.

Tip: azulejos are a repeated motif. They take a large size far better than a landmark view, which loses its detail past a certain point.

Seville poster: landmark or motif?

  • The landmark names the city: Giralda, Torre del Oro, Plaza de España.
  • The motif keeps its material: ceramic, brick, the cast shadow of the arches.
  • In an entrance, the landmark identifies the place straight away.
  • In a kitchen or a bathroom, the motif decorates without imposing a holiday memory.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
