Seville as seen by our artists: the Giralda framed by an open door, the coloured panels and the terracotta floors. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.
Choosing your Seville poster
What does our Seville poster show?
One poster makes up this section. An open door acts as a frame, and the Giralda is revealed at the far end, the former minaret turned cathedral bell tower. The dark threshold in the foreground reinforces the light beyond: the whole composition rests on the contrast between shade and full sun.
Which wall colour for a Seville poster?
- Andalusian ochres and whites sit naturally on a light wall, limewashed or cream.
- On a terracotta or straw yellow wall the scene blends in: prefer a neutral wall, or a frankly dark one.
- A medium wood frame follows the warmth of the stone; a black frame closes the door and hardens the threshold.
- Living room, study and hallway all work, with a preference for bright rooms, which extend the light of the image.
Which size should you choose?
- 30x40 for an entrance or hallway: the door effect finds its meaning there.
- 50x70 for a living room or study, when the Giralda must show its detail.
- 70x100 for a bare wall, where the poster becomes a real opening.
A backlit image belongs away from a window: raking light flattens its own contrast.
How are these posters printed?
Each poster is printed to order in our workshop in Grasse, on 220 gsm fine art paper with an anti-glare satin finish, using low-emission inks. It comes in 21x30, 30x40, 50x70 and 70x100 cm, on its own or with its frame.
