Which abstract office poster should you choose?

The abstract covers several registers, and they do not speak to the same wall:

• Modern abstract piece: wide shapes, a reduced palette, clean lines.
• Abstract art poster: gestures, textures, matter laid down flat.
• Geometric poster: circles, triangles, grids, a rigorous composition.
• Minimalism: one shape, one ground, plenty of empty space.
• Tone on tone: a single shade run through its nuances.
• Organic lines: fluid curves, continuous movement, no angle.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang office wall decor?

• Facing the workstation: a size that does not distract, a calm composition.
• Above a shelf: a small framed piece, set down rather than hung.
• Meeting room: a modern abstract piece in a large size, neutral.
• The wall behind the screen on video calls: a plain, uncluttered ground.
• Waiting area: a series of abstract posters in the same size.

Tip: an office wall often gets continuous artificial light. A cool shade looks greyer there than at home; try a warm or neutral colour instead.

One piece or several for an office wall?

• A single piece in 50x70 or 70x100: one focal point, with no visual competition.
• A diptych of two 30x40: balance on either side of a unit or a screen.
• Three 21x30 in a line: a regular cadence, useful on a long low wall.
• The 100x140 polyptych: kept for large meeting or reception walls, never for a single desk.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

• With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
• Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
