Posters berlin
Berlin as seen by our artists: the television tower, the brick bridges and the graphic foliage. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.
Bien choisir votre affiche Berlin
Which Berlin poster should you choose?
Berlin comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:
- Television tower poster: the Alexanderplatz sphere, Berlin's most recognisable silhouette.
- Brandenburg Gate poster: the columns and the quadriga, photographed or drawn in line.
- Berlin Wall poster: the East Side Gallery, murals, the memory of the divided city.
- Berlin map or city plan poster: the Spree, the boroughs, the line of the wall traced out.
- Black and white Berlin poster: concrete, post-war facades, dry contrasts.
- Botanical Berlin poster: a landmark caught among leaves, a plant and graphic register.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a Berlin poster?
- Living room: a view of the tower or the Spree, alone above the sofa.
- Office: a graphic composition, frank and plain beside the screen.
- Bedroom: a plant register, calm, which keeps the landmark discreet.
- Entrance: a map of Berlin, to place the city from the door.
- Hallway: a series of three European capitals, same size and same frame.
Tip: Berlin lends itself to a large size because its subjects are geometric. A sphere, a column, a stretch of wall stay legible enlarged, where a dense view blurs.
Berlin poster: landmark or mood?
- The landmark names the city: tower, gate, dome, recognisable at first glance.
- The mood tells it differently: leaves, painted walls, the material of concrete.
- In an entrance, the landmark identifies the place straight away.
- In a bedroom or a living room, the mood decorates without imposing a postcard.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
