Posters coastal

The seaside as seen by our artists: washed blues, sand, foam and sails on the horizon, coastal light all year round. Each poster is a personal reading of the open sea, hand-printed on 270 g photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our studio in Fayence.

Choosing your coastal poster

Which seaside poster should you choose?

The seaside comes in several registers, and each tells a different mood:

  • Seaside poster: beaches, coves, beach huts, parasols.
  • Vintage seaside poster: old bathing advertisements, spa towns, ocean liners.
  • Retro seaside poster: period lettering, faded palettes, postcards.
  • Waves and marine horizon: deep blues, movement, a clear sky.
  • Sailing boats and harbour scenes: hulls at anchor, regattas, quays.
  • Dunes and sand: marram grass, coastline, the low light of late afternoon.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a seaside poster?

  • Living room: a large seaside wall poster, above the sofa.
  • Bedroom: a calming blue, a quiet horizon rather than a restless wave.
  • Bathroom: the room where a beach poster naturally finds its place.
  • Hallway: a series of two or three posters from the same register, aligned.
  • Entrance: a vintage seaside poster to set the tone from the doorway.

Tip: marine blues turn grey on a cold wall. A cream or sand wall shows them off better.

An XXL poster or a more discreet size?

  • 50x70 and 70x100 suit a horizon or a wide view, which needs space to breathe.
  • The XXL seaside wall poster, as a 100x140 polyptych, structures a whole wall in several panels.
  • 30x40 is enough for a detail: a beach hut, a rope, a shell.
  • Three 21x30 in a row make a series without taking a large wall.

Every affordable seaside poster in the shop is printed on 270 g photo paper with a semi-matte finish, whichever size you choose.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
