Japan football posters

Japanese football seen by our artists: between woodblock print and the Great Wave. Each poster is a personal reading of the jersey, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our studio in Fayence.

Choosing your Japan football poster

Which Japan football poster should you choose?

Japanese football comes in several graphic registers, and they do not tell the same story:

  • Manga and anime illustration: a dynamic line, a player mid-action, a tribute to Japanese sports manga.
  • Minimalist poster: flat colour, a pared-back frame, a Japanese graphic aesthetic.
  • Player portrait: a suspended gesture, a strike, a first touch, a close-up on the decisive instant.
  • Vintage Japan football poster: period lettering, patinated colours, a retro spirit.
  • Supporters and stadium: stands, fervour, match atmosphere.
  • Typography and kanji: slogans, calligraphy, graphic compositions around the word football.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Japan football poster?

  • Teenager's room: above the desk or the bed, near the posters already in place.
  • Living room: a large size, visible from the sofa on match evenings.
  • Child's room: a manga scene, colourful and dynamic.
  • Office: a minimalist illustration, restrained beside the screen.
  • Hallway: a series of several posters in the same style, aligned in the same size.

Tip: a match scene holds better in a large size, a player portrait stays legible even small.

Which size for a Japan football poster?

  • 30x40 for a player portrait, tight on the gesture.
  • 50x70 for a match scene, which needs space to breathe.
  • 21x30 for a series of three or four, aligned in a hallway.
  • The 100x140 polyptych for a composition in several panels, player or stadium.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
