Where should you hang a hot air balloon poster?
In a child’s bedroom, a softly coloured balloon complements pale furniture and simple textiles. A vintage version can also fit into a living room or study. An aerial landscape suits an entrance, where it opens the perspective. For a small wall, a vertical composition naturally follows the shape of the balloon and basket.
Tip: avoid placing the frame right against the ceiling. A visible margin above the picture reinforces the impression of air and lightness.
A childhood subject or a travel picture?
Hot air balloons are not confined to nursery decoration. Their visual history, proportions and colours can create an elegant picture in an adult room. Treatment matters more than motif: a naïve drawing creates a gentle atmosphere, while a detailed landscape invites travel. For a pair, combine the balloon with a sky or landform rather than a second identical balloon.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
