Posters naive art

Colourful houses, lush gardens and everyday scenes take on a distinctive character in naive art. A poster from this world favours storytelling, colour and deliberately simplified forms. It brings warm wall decor to a living room or entrance, enjoyable from a distance and close up.

Choosing a naive art poster

Which subjects suit a naive art print?

Naive art often charms through its direct way of telling a scene. Proportions, perspective and details may follow the logic of the story rather than realistic representation. When choosing your poster, ask whether you prefer an image full of small discoveries or a simpler composition organised around a few shapes.

  • Naive village poster: houses, streets and gardens brought together in a brightly coloured scene.
  • Naive landscape poster: hills, trees and paths drawn with a free approach to perspective.
  • Naive garden print: flowers and vegetation forming a generous, sometimes almost imaginary world.
  • Everyday scene poster: people and daily gestures for narrative wall decor.

The filters help you find colours and an orientation suited to your wall.

Which room suits a warm, welcoming image?

The living room allows time to discover the details of a composition. An entrance can welcome a more legible landscape whose colours immediately set the tone. In a kitchen, a garden or village scene readily speaks to wood and colourful crockery.

Tip: if the drawing includes many small motifs, keep the frame and neighbouring objects very simple.

Naive art does not mean children's decor

Simplified drawing can appeal at any age. For an adult interior, focus on the palette, subject and density of the composition. A scene in deep tones creates a different effect from a pastel village. Nor should naivety automatically suggest an absence of detail: some images specifically invite slow observation of figures, paths and little objects.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
