Posters cyclist
The cyclist as seen by our artists: pelotons, vintage jerseys, mountain roads and race lines. Each poster is a personal reading of cycling, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.
Choosing your cyclist poster
Which cyclist poster should you choose?
The bicycle comes in several clearly distinct registers, and they do not speak to the same audience:
- Cycle race poster: peloton, breakaway, sprint, a competition mood.
- Racing cyclist poster: a solitary portrait, effort, the line of a body bent over the frame.
- Legendary climb poster: mountain hairpins, ascent, the summit sign.
- Vintage cycling poster: period jerseys, old bicycles, a washed-out palette.
- Minimalist bicycle poster: silhouette, frame, wheel, reduced to a few lines.
- Cycle-touring poster: a country road, a bend lined with trees, a ride rather than a race.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a cyclist poster?
- Living room: a racing scene in a large size, above the sofa.
- Office or home gym: a racer's portrait, for the energy it gives the room.
- Hallway: a series of three legendary climbs, in the same size.
- Bedroom: a minimalist bicycle poster, more restful than a peloton scene.
- Entrance: a vintage poster, which sets the tone from the door.
Tip: mountain scenes keep their legibility even in a small size, unlike peloton images, which lose their detail below 30x40.
Cyclist poster or mountain-pass poster?
- The cyclist poster shows effort and movement: a body, a gait, a tension.
- The pass poster shows a place: the hairpins, the altitude, a landscape the bicycle crosses.
- The first suits a lover of the sporting gesture, the second a lover of the mountains or of one precise pass.
- On a wall already full of colour, the legendary pass holds better: the composition stays legible even in flat colour.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
