Posters fashion

Fashion as seen by our artists: line-drawn silhouettes, illustrated accessories and vintage covers. Each poster is a personal reading of this graphic language, hand-printed on 270 gsm semi-matte photo paper in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your fashion poster

Which fashion poster should you choose?

Fashion comes in several registers, carried by different names and different media:

  • Vogue poster: iconic covers, magazine layout, text and image brought together.
  • Vintage Vogue poster or Vogue Art Deco poster: lines from the 1920s to the 1960s, period typography.
  • Black and white fashion poster: studio photography, strong contrast, a timeless result.
  • Fashion ad poster or old magazine poster: adverts and campaigns reissued in large format.
  • Luxury fashion poster in the style of Chanel, Dior or vintage Louis Vuitton: monograms and house silhouettes.
  • Depeche Mode poster or album cover: a nearby musical register, often filed alongside fashion.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by era and by mood.

Where should you hang a fashion poster?

  • Dressing room or bedroom: a large-format Vogue poster, alone facing the mirror.
  • Living room: a black and white fashion poster, understated above the sofa.
  • Entrance: a vintage cover, to set the tone from the doorstep.
  • Office or creative space: a fashion plate or an old advert, in a small size.
  • Hallway: a series of covers from the same title, aligned in the same size.

Fashion poster in colour or in black and white?

Black and white brings the fashion poster closer to studio photography: it suits most walls and never dates. Colour captures the precise era of a cover or a campaign, with its own tones. On an already busy wall, black and white calms the whole. For a dressing room or a bedroom dedicated to fashion, colour carries more of a decade's spirit.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
