Posters gorilla

Gorilla as seen by our artists: the dark coat, the deep gaze and the misty rainforest behind. Each poster is a personal reading of the animal world, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your gorilla poster

Which gorilla poster should you choose?

  • Black and white gorilla poster: an intense gaze, strong contrast, a raw photographic rendering.
  • Gorilla portrait poster: a close shot on the face, the texture of the fur and of the gaze.
  • Mountain gorilla poster: posture, forest setting, an imposing presence.
  • Colour gorilla poster: skin and fur in their natural tones, a softer mood.
  • Gorilla drawing or graphic poster: stylised lines, flat colour, a more decorative register than photographic.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour and by style.

Where should you hang a gorilla poster?

  • Living room: a large black and white portrait, alone above the sofa.
  • Office: a smaller size, understated, for a discreet presence.
  • Bedroom: a colour version, less frontal than a tight close-up.
  • Entrance: a vertical format, to mark the threshold with a strong gesture.
  • Dining room or hallway: an animal series including the gorilla among other portraits.

Gorilla poster in black and white or in colour?

Black and white heightens the intensity of the gaze and suits most interiors, whatever their palette. Colour renders the texture of the fur and suits a room that is already warm in tone better. On a pale, neutral wall, the contrast of black and white carries further. On a wall that already has character, colour avoids too harsh an effect.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
