Choosing your Limoges poster

Which Limoges poster should you choose?

Limoges comes in several distinct styles:

  • Vintage Limoges poster: old travel advertisement, dated lettering, sepia or pastel palette.
  • Gare des Bénédictins poster: dome and Art Deco façade, clean graphic line.
  • Saint-Étienne cathedral poster: gothic silhouette, clean vertical format.
  • Limoges map poster: stylised plan, districts and landmarks named.
  • Limoges porcelain poster: floral pattern, white and gold, decorative style.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Limoges poster?

Vintage or contemporary Limoges poster?

Vintage takes up the grain and lettering of old travel advertisements: it suits an interior that owns its retro side. Contemporary strips the subject down to flat colour and clean lines, it fits a wall that is already busy without adding to it. On a pale wall, vintage warms the room. On a dark wall, contemporary keeps its legibility.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
