Choosing your 70x100 poster

Which 70x100 poster should you choose?

  • Landscape 70x100 poster: panoramas, coastlines and horizon lines, a wide format made for this way of reading.
  • Vintage 70x100 poster: old advertisements, retro lettering, weathered yellows and ochres.
  • 70x100 film poster: a movie poster, one strong image, tightly framed on a face or a title.
  • 70x100 photography poster: black and white or colour, a sharp subject that carries the distance.
  • 70 x 100 map or city plan poster: an entire geography readable without losing detail.
  • 70x100 typography poster: a quote or a word, in letters large enough to read from afar.

Where should you hang a 70x100 poster?

  • Living room: alone above the sofa, it structures the whole wall.
  • Dining room: facing the table, a size the eye keeps throughout the meal.
  • Bedroom: above the bed, as a landscape 70x100 poster so as not to overwhelm the headboard.
  • Wide entrance or hallway: a vertical 70x100 poster, visible from the threshold.

70x100 poster, landscape or portrait?

  • Landscape suits wide scenes: coastline, city, panorama, and walls that are longer than they are tall.
  • Portrait carries vertical subjects: architecture, silhouette, typography, and pairs well with a narrow wall.
  • Above a sofa or a headboard, landscape follows the line of the furniture.
  • In a hallway or between two windows, portrait fits better.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
