Posters Ajaccio

Ajaccio as seen by our artists: the bay open to the sea and the alleys running down to the water. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your Ajaccio poster

Which Ajaccio poster should you choose?

Ajaccio comes in several registers, between Napoleonic heritage and views of the gulf:

  • Vintage Ajaccio poster: old travel advertisement, retro lettering, ochre and sepia palette.
  • Gulf of Ajaccio poster: wide open bay, turquoise sea, mountains in the background.
  • Îles Sanguinaires poster: red rocks, lighthouse, sunset over the water.
  • Corsica map poster: stylised outline of the island, named towns and relief.
  • Citadel and old town poster: ramparts, narrow streets, Napoleonic imprint.
  • Corsican maquis poster: dense vegetation, greens and browns, Mediterranean mood.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang an Ajaccio poster?

  • Living room: a large format with a view over the gulf, above the sofa.
  • Bedroom: the soft tones of a sunset over the Sanguinaires.
  • Entrance: a map of Corsica, to set the tone from the doorstep.
  • Office: a vintage poster of the citadel, understated next to the screen.
  • Dining room: a colourful Corsican maquis, close to the table.

Tip: the ochres and reds of the Sanguinaires stand out better on a pale wall.

Ajaccio poster in colour or in black and white?

  • Colour brings out the light of the gulf and the ochre of the citadel.
  • Black and white highlights the lines of the coastline and the ramparts, without the season.
  • On a wall that is already colourful, black and white calms the whole.
  • On a neutral wall, colour carries the promise of the journey further.

Our Ajaccio posters are printed on 270 g photo paper with a semi-matte finish, in sizes 21x30, 30x40, 50x70, 70x100, and as a 100x140 polyptych for panoramic views of the gulf.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
