Posters Marrakesh

Marrakesh as seen by our artists: riad arches, the Koutoubia minaret before the Atlas, the ochre rooftops of the medina and the Majorelle blue of the doors. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your Marrakesh poster

Which Marrakech poster should you choose?

Marrakech comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:

  • Koutoubia poster: the minaret against the sky, Marrakech's most recognisable silhouette.
  • Majorelle garden poster: the deep blue, the cacti, the yellow pots.
  • Medina and souks poster: lanes, studded doors, stalls, an ochre palette.
  • Marrakech map or city plan poster: ramparts, squares, districts traced in line.
  • Zellij and motifs poster: Moroccan geometry, repetition, frank colours.
  • Atlas and Marrakech poster: the snowy mountains behind the city, an earth and snow palette.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Marrakech poster?

  • Living room: a view of the medina or the Atlas, alone above the sofa.
  • Bathroom: a zellij motif, geometric and bright in a small room.
  • Entrance: a map of Marrakech, to place the city from the door.
  • Bedroom: the ochre and terracotta palette, warm and calm at once.
  • Hallway: a series of three Moroccan cities, same size and same frame.

Tip: Majorelle blue is a dominant colour, not an accent. On a coloured wall it fights; on a white or pale grey wall it carries the whole room.

Marrakech poster: city or motif?

  • The city tells a place: minaret, lane, doorway, square, all recognisable.
  • The motif tells a craft: zellij, carved plaster, repeated geometry.
  • In a living room, the city works as an owned travel memory.
  • In a kitchen or a bathroom, the motif decorates without telling a story.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
