Choosing your Poppy poster

Which poppy poster should you choose?

The poppy comes in several distinct registers:

  • Poppy field poster: wide landscape, red dots in the wheat, summer mood.
  • Red poppy poster on white background: a single flower, graphic and clean treatment.
  • Botanical poppy poster: detailed plate, stem and petals in precise line.
  • Watercolour poppy wall poster: blurred outlines, pigment that bleeds, soft rendering.
  • Poppy bouquet poster: several stems in a vase, still life register.
  • Black and white poppy poster with a touch of red: the flower alone in colour, the rest in shades of grey.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by size.

Where should you hang a poppy poster?

  • Living room: a poppy field in a large size, above the sofa.
  • Bedroom: a single poppy on a light background, so as not to overload the room.
  • Kitchen: a bouquet of poppies, near the table or the worktop.
  • Entrance: a graphic red poppy, for a first splash of colour.
  • Office: a botanical plate, understated next to the screen.

Poppy poster: bright red or pastel tones?

Red poppy is a bold colour that dominates an entire wall: it carries alone, with no other coloured piece nearby. On a wall already busy with tones, it competes and tires the eye. A watercolour or pastel-toned version fits more easily into a room that already has several colours. On a neutral, white or beige wall, the poppy's red finds its place and becomes the room's focal point.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
