How to choose your lake poster

Which lake poster to choose?

The lake comes in several registers, depending on the light and relief around it:

  • Alpine lake: turquoise or dark water, surrounded by peaks and conifer forests.
  • Reflections on the water: an almost perfect mirror, mountain or sky doubled on the surface.
  • Lake horizon at sunrise or sunset: soft gradients, mist over the water.
  • Shore and jetty: close framing, a moored rowing boat or a wooden dock.
  • Lake in winter: frozen surface, snow-covered shores, a cold and mineral palette.

Where to hang a lake poster?

  • Living room: a large horizontal format, to open the wall onto a landscape.
  • Bedroom: a lake at daybreak, soft tones, above the bed.
  • Home office: an alpine lake in black and white, sober near the screen.

Lake poster in colour or in black and white?

Colour renders the season and the light of the place: the green of an alpine lake, the ochre of a sunset. Black and white erases the weather and suits an interior already rich in colour. On a light wall, a colour lake poster adds depth; on a dark wall, black and white keeps the motif legible without overloading the room.

Poster, print or canvas: what's the difference?

All three words describe the same thing here: a printed image you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, mounted and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into a frame you already own.
