Posters mosaic
Mosaic composes patterns from small assembled tesserae: repeated geometries, oriental arabesques, ancient scenes or colourful friezes. On a wall, it brings a dense visual texture without the weight of the original material, between Mediterranean inspiration and ancient decorative art.
Choosing your mosaic poster
Which mosaic poster to choose?
Mosaic covers several distinct registers, depending on the origin of the pattern and how the tesserae are assembled:
- Geometric mosaic poster: triangles, diamonds or squares repeated in flat colours.
- Ancient mosaic poster: Roman pavements, mythological scenes recomposed in tesserae.
- Oriental mosaic poster: arabesques and interlacing inspired by zellige and azulejos.
- Byzantine mosaic poster: gold backgrounds, stylised figures, a more solemn register.
- Floral mosaic poster: plant motifs and stylised flowers in small coloured fragments.
- Abstract mosaic poster: a non-figurative pattern, designed as a continuous wall block of colour.
The filters on the left narrow the choice by colour, style and room.
Where to hang a mosaic poster?
- Living room: a colourful geometric format, above the sofa or a sideboard.
- Bedroom: a floral mosaic in soft tones, for a soothing atmosphere.
- Kitchen: a repeated geometric pattern, echoing the tiling.
- Bathroom: an oriental or geometric register, in keeping with the tiles.
- Entrance hall: an ancient or Byzantine mosaic, for immediate impact.
Tip: a dense geometric pattern pairs well with a plain wall, to avoid visual overload.
Mosaic poster as a single piece or several panels?
A dense, repetitive pattern works well as a single format, in 50x70 or 70x100, letting the composition unfold without a break. A wider motif, such as a frieze or a continuous pavement, benefits from being split into several panels to fill an entire wall section. The choice mainly depends on the width of the available wall and the effect you want: a strong, concentrated piece, or a composition that stretches out. The frame, sober and thin, lets the texture of the pattern carry the whole.
Poster, print or artwork: what is the difference?
The three words here describe the same thing: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We call it a poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, mounted and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into a frame you already own.
