Posters northern lights

Ribbons of light, night sky and northern horizons give the aurora borealis a unique landscape subject. An aurora borealis poster plays with the colors of the sky above a relief, a forest or water. Choose a poster that brings a bright scene and a sense of space to the wall.

This collection has just opened. We are adding our first posters.

Aurora borealis poster: the light of the northern sky

Which aurora borealis poster to choose?

An aurora borealis can occupy almost the entire sky or appear as an accent above the landscape. The ribbons of light give movement; a mountain or a forest helps to situate their scale. Water views add reflections and a more open foreground. Look at the amount of detail on the ground to choose an image centered on the sky or the entire panorama.

  • Northern Lights poster in the mountains: a dark relief highlights the light curves and gives a silhouette to the landscape.
  • Aurora borealis and forest poster: trees and night sky create several shots in a more vegetal scene.
  • Minimalist aurora borealis illustration: a few ribbons and a simplified horizon keep a very graphic reading.
  • Northern Lights poster on a lake: light and reflections create an image where the water gives space.

Color filters help choose dominant greens or more blue and purple shades.

Where to hang an aurora borealis sky?

A living room can accommodate an ample landscape, with a large area of sky above the furniture. In a bedroom, prefer soft light and moderate contrasts. A desk lends itself to simpler graphic composition. Tip: a light margin separates the nighttime parts of the wall and prevents the dark background from appearing too massive.

The sky as a point of attention

The interest of an aurora borealis poster lies in the dialogue between the movement of light and a stable landscape. A busy scene in the foreground can distract from this relationship. For a Nordic duo, combine the sky with a mountain or sea view with a compatible palette. The two images can thus share an atmosphere without repeating the same phenomenon.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
