Choosing your statue poster

Which statue poster should you choose?

The statue comes in several distinct registers, carried by different worlds:

  • Statue of Liberty poster: New York silhouette, vertical format, symbol of freedom.
  • Dragon Ball Z poster: figurines and statues of the characters, manga universe, vivid colours.
  • Antique statue poster: David, Venus de Milo, Greek or Roman marble, classical rendering.
  • Sculpted bust poster: portrait in stone, tight framing, worked material.
  • Urban statue poster: city monument, public square, architectural context.
  • Religious statue poster: sacred figure, drapery, a hushed mood.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a statue poster?

  • Living room: a large antique statue, above the sofa.
  • Office: a Dragon Ball Z poster or urban statue, for an inspiring setting.
  • Bedroom: a plain sculpted bust, above the bed.
  • Entrance: a Statue of Liberty poster, to set the tone from the doorway.
  • Hallway: a series of busts or antique statues, all the same size.

Statue poster in colour or in black and white?

  • Black and white brings out the material: marble, stone, bronze, with no distraction from colour.
  • Colour suits figurines and modern statues, like Dragon Ball Z, for a vivid result.
  • On an already busy wall, black and white calms the composition.
  • On a neutral wall, colour carries the subject's world further.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
