Posters liege
Liege as seen by our artists: the Meuse, the bridges and the city engraved as an old plan. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.
Bien choisir votre affiche Liège
Which Liège poster should you choose?
Liège comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:
- Montagne de Bueren poster: the three hundred and seventy-four steps climbing straight up the hill.
- Meuse and bridges poster: the river crossing the city, the quays, the arches.
- Guillemins station poster: the vault of glass and concrete, contemporary architecture.
- Liège map or city plan poster: the Meuse, the island, the districts traced in line.
- Engraved Liège poster: the city in fine line, the spirit of an old print.
- Black and white Liège poster: brick, industry, contrasts without colour.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a Liège poster?
- Hallway: the Montagne de Bueren in a tall size, which extends the corridor instead of closing it.
- Living room: the Meuse and its bridges in a large size, alone above the sofa.
- Office: the station vault, geometric and calm beside the screen.
- Entrance: a map of Liège, to place the city from the door.
- Stairwell: a drawn staircase naturally finds its place there.
Tip: a staircase seen head-on creates a very strong recession. Place it at eye level: any higher and the eye stops following the steps.
Liège poster: heritage or contemporary architecture?
- Heritage holds the old city: stairs, brick, the Perron, stone arches.
- Contemporary architecture holds the station: glass, white concrete, taut curves.
- On a classic wall, engraving and brick agree without effort.
- In a pared-back interior, the contemporary vault holds alone and takes a large size.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
