Posters alps
Alps as seen by our artists: the snow-capped peaks, the turquoise glacial lakes and the wooden chalets nestled in the valley. Each poster is a personal reading of the landscape, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.
Choosing your Alps poster
Which Alps poster should you choose?
Alpine mountains come in several distinct registers:
- Alps mountain poster in watercolour or clean lines: stylised peaks, soft palette, contemporary spirit.
- Vintage Alps poster: winter sports advertising typography, faded tones, old-map framing.
- Serre Chevalier poster or another resort: identifiable piste, lifts, panorama of the ski area.
- French Alps poster in photography: snow-capped peak, crisp light, black and white or colour.
- Graphic mountain poster: geometric shapes, flat colour blocks, a quick read of the massif.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang an Alps poster?
- Living room: a large-format photographic peak, alone above the sofa.
- Bedroom: a mountain watercolour in soft tones, soothing before sleep.
- Chalet or second home: a vintage resort poster, in keeping with the place.
- Office: a clean graphic line drawing, understated next to the screen.
- Entrance: a stylised map of the Alps, to set the tone from the threshold.
Alps poster: horizontal or vertical?
A wide massif, with several peaks aligned, reads better in horizontal format: it respects the horizon line and suits the space above a sofa or a bed. A single peak, tightly framed, gains impact in vertical format, particularly in a hallway or between two windows. On a narrow wall, vertical avoids compressing the image; on a large bare wall, horizontal fills the space without overloading it.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
