Posters brittany
Brittany seen by our artists: jagged coasts, windblown lighthouses, granite harbours and Atlantic light. Each poster is a personal reading of the peninsula, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our studio in Fayence.
Choosing your Brittany poster
Which Brittany poster should you choose?
The subject covers several clearly distinct registers, carried by different places and styles:
- Vintage Brittany poster: old tourist advertisements, period lettering, sepia or pastel tones.
- Towns and ports: Quimper, Douarnenez, Paimpol, Auray, recognisable facades and quays.
- Headlands and coastal sites: Quiberon, the gulf of Morbihan, Crozon, Ouessant, Finistere.
- Beaches and seaside resorts: Perros-Guirec, Saint-Cast-le-Guildo, Pleneuf-Val-Andre, Benodet, Erquy, Audierne.
- Seaside and marine landscapes: coves, dunes, lighthouses, changing skies from Morbihan to Finistere.
- Signed illustration and characters: animal silhouettes or local figures with a recognisable line, for a more graphic decor.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by town.
Where should you hang a Brittany poster?
- Living room: a large coastal or harbour view, above the sofa.
- Bedroom: a black and white view or soft tones, never too busy a scene.
- Kitchen: a vintage poster or an illustration, in a small size near a shelf.
- Office: a town view such as Quimper or Carnac, a discreet reminder of a place you love.
- Entrance or hallway: a series of headlands or beaches in the same size, aligned.
Brittany poster, vintage or black and white?
Whether you are looking for a print or a poster of Brittany, the same question comes up:
- Vintage replays the codes of old advertising: frank or sepia colour, period lettering, a nostalgic mood.
- Black and white leans on photography: contrast, texture, a sky or a rock taking up the whole frame.
- On an already colourful wall, black and white calms things; on a neutral wall, vintage brings the colour that is missing.
- The size follows the subject: 50x70 or 70x100 for a horizon or a harbour, 21x30 for a detail, the 100x140 polyptych for a panorama in several panels.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
