Posters manchester

Manchester as seen by our artists: the iron halls, the red brick and the clock towers. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.

Bien choisir votre affiche Manchester

Which Manchester poster should you choose?

Manchester comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:

  • Industrial architecture poster: iron halls, glazed roofs, red brick, cast iron columns.
  • Manchester canals poster: locks, warehouses, footbridges above the water.
  • Manchester music poster: the spirit of the labels and the clubs, eighties lettering.
  • Manchester map or city plan poster: the centre, the canals, the districts traced in line.
  • Manchester football poster: club colours, the ground, a terrace feel.
  • Black and white Manchester poster: brick, rain, low sky, dry contrasts.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Manchester poster?

  • Living room: an iron hall in a large size, alone above the sofa.
  • Office: a metal structure, geometric and calm beside the screen.
  • Entrance: a map of Manchester, to place the city from the door.
  • Teenager's bedroom: a music or football poster, an owned taste on a pale wall.
  • Hallway: a series of three English cities, same size and same frame.

Tip: red brick dulls on a beige wall. On a white or grey wall it keeps its density and does not turn brown.

Manchester poster: architecture or culture?

  • Architecture holds the industrial city: iron, brick, glass, repeated structures.
  • Culture holds the other Manchester: music, the club, concert posters.
  • In a living space, architecture fits into any setting.
  • In a bedroom or a personal office, culture owns a taste and says so.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
