Posters Norway
The posters in this collection evoke Norway through Oslo, its fjord, its harbour and its architecture. From streets under cloudy skies to more abstract compositions, the framings vary to offer several readings of the Norwegian capital and its relationship with water.
How to choose your Norway poster
Which Norway poster should you choose?
Oslo and its waterfront offer several decorating subjects. Each composition gives a different place to the city and the water:
- A view of the Opera House on the fjord pairs architecture with an open horizon.
- A street corner under the clouds favours an urban scene at eye level.
- A brown line composition on an ivory background offers a more abstract reading.
- A harbour made of floating planes emphasises surfaces and layering.
- A view of the fjord leaves more room for landscape and depth.
Compare the colours and the framing to choose between recognisable architecture and a freer evocation of the city.
Where to hang a Norway poster?
- Living room: a view of the fjord gives an opening above a low piece of furniture.
- Office: an architectural composition brings clean lines to the workspace.
- Bedroom: an ivory background and muted tones pair well with plain textiles.
- Hallway: a street scene establishes an urban presence right from the entrance.
- Corridor: two interpretations of the harbour can echo each other from a distance.
Urban view or abstract composition?
An urban view lets you find the buildings, streets and the relationship between the city and the fjord. An abstract composition favours shapes, colours and their balance within the image. The choice depends on the memory or the mood you wish to recreate at home. Before pairing several posters, check their palette, their available orientations and the space you have on the wall.
Poster, affiche or tableau: what's the difference?
All three words refer here to the same thing: a printed image you hang on the wall. We call it a poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image also exists on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into a frame you already own.
