Choosing your shark poster
Which shark poster should you choose?
Sharks come in several distinct styles depending on the look you want:
- Realistic shark poster: textured skin, open jaws, photographic rendering.
- Great white shark poster: massive silhouette, strong contrast, deep blue or black background.
- Graphic shark poster: clean lines, flat colour blocks, illustration format.
- Year of the shark poster: a pop-culture wink, an offbeat, colourful tone.
- Shark movie poster: cinema atmosphere, dramatic framing, dark tones.
- Black and white shark poster: strong contrast, a restrained look for a graphic wall.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by size.
Where should you hang a shark poster?
- Kid's or teen's room: a graphic or colourful shark, never the most realistic version.
- Living room: a large black and white print, above the sofa.
- Office: a shark illustration poster, understated next to the screen.
- Playroom or hallway: the year of the shark poster, for a lighter tone.
- Kitchen or dining room: best avoided, the subject doesn't suit it well.
Large or small shark poster?
A shark in close-up, jaws open or full silhouette, is better seen large: a 70x100 or a 100x140 polyptych restores the animal's scale and the impact you want on a living-room wall. A 21x30 or 30x40 size suits a graphic version better, or a wall that is already busy, where the shark becomes one detail among others rather than the centrepiece. The choice depends as much on the poster's style as on the size of the wall available.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
