Posters france

France seen by our artists: coves of Brittany and Corsica, olive trees of Provence, rooftops of Paris, harbours of Marseille and Nice. Each poster is a personal reading of France, hand-printed on 270 g photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our studio in Fayence.

Choosing your France poster

Which France poster should you choose?

  • Lyon poster: traboules, Fourvière, the Saône, the city in flat colour or in an old photograph.
  • Map of France poster: the outline of the country, the regions, the borders drawn in line.
  • Normandy and Brittany poster: cliffs, harbours, lighthouses, changing skies.
  • Provence and Alsace poster: lavender, vines, half-timbering, a marked regional identity.
  • Tour de France poster: the peloton, the passes, the jerseys, the race as a subject in its own right.
  • Vintage French city poster: old advertisements, retro lettering, Paris, Bordeaux, Reims.

The filters on the left narrow things down by region, by city and by style.

Where should you hang a France poster?

  • Living room: a map of France in a large size, alone on a clear wall.
  • Office: a vintage city poster, plain beside a work surface.
  • Entrance: a poster of the city where you live, as the first visual landmark.
  • Bedroom: a Norman or Breton coast, in soft tones.
  • Hallway: a series of French cities, same size, same style.

Tip: a map of France becomes readable from 50x70 upwards. Below that, the region names get lost.

Map of France or city poster?

  • The map tells the whole country, a landmark for an entrance or an office.
  • The city poster tells one precise place, often your own or one you remember.
  • For a living room, a single strong piece wins over several small posters scattered about.
  • The 270 g photo paper with its semi-matte finish keeps a map's line crisp and an old photograph's grain intact.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
