Posters barcelona
Barcelona seen by our artists: the spires of the Sagrada Família, the city seen from the sea, the black staircase descending toward the sea. Each poster is a personal reading of Barcelona, hand-printed on 270 g photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our studio in Fayence.
Choosing your Barcelona poster
Which Barcelona poster should you choose?
Barcelona comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:
- Barcelona architecture poster: the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, modernist facades.
- Vintage Barcelona poster: old advertising, retro lettering, tourism of the 1950s and 1960s.
- Minimalist Barcelona poster: the city's silhouette, flat colour, pared-back shapes.
- Map and plan of Barcelona: districts, streets, landmarks for the large sizes.
- Beach and Barcelona seafront: Barceloneta, a Mediterranean sky, the light of the south.
- Catalan street illustration: the alleys of the Gothic quarter, terraces, scenes of local life.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a Barcelona poster?
- Living room: an architectural view in a large size, alone above the sofa.
- Bedroom: a beach scene or a minimalist flat colour, for a calm wall.
- Office: a map of the city, a landmark and a starting point for the eye.
- Entrance: a vintage poster, which sets the tone from the doorstep.
- Hallway: a series of three views of the Gothic quarter, in the same size.
Tip: the ochre and terracotta tones of Barcelona come out better on a pale wall, off-white or sand.
Barcelona or Barcelona: which spelling?
- Both spellings name the same city: the choice belongs to the style of the room, not to the subject.
- The Catalan form often accompanies vintage or typographic compositions, in the spirit of a travel poster.
- The French form suits more contemporary, minimalist or architectural renderings.
- For a bare wall, the 50x70 gives architecture the height it asks for; for a hallway, three 21x30 are enough to set the mood.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
