Choosing your boho print

Which bohemian poster should you choose?

The bohemian spirit covers several registers, and each sets up a different mood:

  • Boho chic poster: pared-back lines, earthy shades, organic shapes.
  • Ethnic and woven motifs: diamonds, fringes, rugs and macramé drawn.
  • Free women and silhouettes: flowing dresses, hair in the wind, relaxed poses.
  • Dried botany: palms, wheat, pampas, branches in a bunch.
  • Stylised suns and moons: graphic shapes, ochre and sand shades.
  • Quotations and soft words: handwritten typography on a textured ground.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a bohemian wall poster?

  • Bedroom: a woven motif or a soft silhouette above the bed.
  • Living room: a large dried botany, solo above the sofa.
  • Reading or meditation corner: a stylised sun, at eye level.
  • Entrance: a handwritten quotation that sets the tone from the door.
  • Dining room: a series of ethnic motifs, aligned in the same size.

Tip: the ochre and terracotta tones of the bohemian style stand out better on a pale wall, in linen or off white.

Boho poster or boho chic poster?

  • The boho poster owns brighter colours and busier motifs, close to seventies vintage.
  • The boho chic poster stays plain: a fine line, a reduced palette, a pared-back spirit.
  • On a wall that already has texture (wood, rattan, linen), the chic avoids overload.
  • On a bare wall, boho brings on its own the relief the room lacks.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
