Posters mediterranean
The Mediterranean as seen by our artists: bold blue, limewashed walls, shutters closed against the midday heat and the light of noon. Each poster is a personal reading of the South, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with a satin anti-glare finish in our studio in Grasse.
Choosing the right poster
Mediterranean style comes down to a palette and two or three recurring motifs: whitewashed walls, the blue of the sea, the ochre of roof tiles, the olive tree, the jar, the arch. This section brings together everything that belongs to that vocabulary, from the most figurative to the most abstract.
It's a style that doesn't mix well: a Mediterranean poster next to a Nordic composition cancels both out. It does, however, pair well with raw wood, terracotta and linen.
Our prints come out of a workshop in Grasse, forty minutes from the Mediterranean. That's not a selling point, it's simply where these images come from.
