Posters Cherbourg
Cherbourg tells its story through quays, boats and the changing light of the Cotentin peninsula. Our posters capture the sea’s presence as much as the city’s lines, in personal images printed to order on 270 gsm semi-matte photo paper in Fayence.
This collection has just opened. We are adding our first posters.
Choosing your Cherbourg poster
Which Cherbourg poster should you choose?
A Cherbourg poster often combines a maritime landscape with the architecture of a port city. To choose, look at what occupies the foreground: boats, façades or water.
- Cherbourg harbour poster: masts and reflections create a vertical rhythm that animates the scene without overcrowding it.
- Vintage Cherbourg print: simplified volumes and bold colours give a graphic reading of the destination.
- Maritime Cotentin wall art: an open coastal view with more room for the sky.
- Black-and-white Cherbourg poster: the quays and building outlines take precedence over colour.
The filters on the left let you refine colours, styles and moods.
Where should you hang a Cherbourg poster?
A harbour landscape complements a living room with restrained materials, pale wood and cream fabrics. In an entrance, a city silhouette can recall a birthplace or a visit. In a study, a boat drawing brings a specific subject without needing an entire wall. A more open seascape suits a bedroom and a gently contrasting interior.
Tip: coordinate the poster’s greys with the materials in the room rather than choosing exactly the same shade of wall paint.
Bringing out the light of the Cotentin
An overcast sky does not necessarily make a dark picture: reflections on the water and façades can carry all its brightness. A Cherbourg poster in blue-grey tones creates a gentle mood; a stronger palette emphasises the harbour’s character. For a Normandy series, vary the viewpoints while keeping matching frames. The destination remains recognisable without repeating the same composition three times.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
