Posters night
Night offers a visual vocabulary all its own: urban lights piercing the darkness, silhouettes cut out against the glow, dark skies crossed by signs or beacons. This register brings a hushed, contrasted mood, ideal for a wall seeking depth without garish colour.
Choosing your night poster
Which night poster to choose?
Night comes in several registers, carried by very different moods, from absolute calm to the bustle of big cities:
- Urban night poster: city lights, signs, avenues glowing in the dark.
- Starry night artwork: clear sky, constellations, deep, dark palette.
- Backlit silhouettes: figures or buildings outlined against a nocturnal background.
- Rainy night reflections: wet pavements, lights doubled on the ground.
- Night landscape: countryside, mountains or coastline plunged into darkness, without a dominant starry sky.
- Clear or cloudy night sky: shifting mood, from deep blue to almost black grey.
The filters on the left narrow the choice by colour, style and room.
Where to hang a night poster?
- Living room: a large dark format above the sofa, for a wall that gains depth.
- Bedroom: a soothing nocturnal palette, far from bright colours.
- Home office: a black-and-white night city, understated near the screen.
- Hallway: a series of identical sizes, the same nocturnal mood from start to end.
- Entrance: a backlit urban silhouette, to set the tone from the threshold.
Tip: on an already dark wall, a night poster blends into the decor; on a light wall, it stands out and draws the eye.
Night poster in colour or black and white?
Black and white heightens the contrast between darkness and points of light, and suits a sober interior. Colour renders the hue of signs, neon or sky, and brings more energy to the room. On a neutral wall, colour carries the nocturnal mood further; on an already busy wall, black and white calms the whole.
Poster, print or artwork: what's the difference?
The three words here all mean the same thing: a printed image you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, mounted and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
