Which English football poster should you choose?

English football comes in several clearly distinct registers:

• Premier League poster: the logo, the shirt, the honours of an emblematic club.
• Arsenal poster, Manchester United poster: the colours and crest of one precise club.
• Player portrait: a piece of technique, a match action, black and white or colour.
• Stadium and stands: the fervour of the kop, the pitch seen from above, a match atmosphere.
• Vintage football poster: period advertising, a leather ball, retro lettering.
• Minimalist graphic composition: a silhouette, a stylised ball, a flat club colour.

Where should you hang football wall decor?

• Bedroom: the portrait or the shirt of a favourite club, above the bed or the desk.
• Living room: a stadium poster in a large size, to set the tone on match days.
• Office or gaming corner: a restrained graphic composition, which does not overload the space.
• Hallway: a series of two or three posters of the same club, aligned in the same size.
• Games room or converted cellar: the vintage register, for an English pub feel.

Tip: the vivid colours of a shirt come out better on a pale wall, white or light grey.

Club poster or player poster?

• The club poster shows a fixed identity: crest, colours, honours. It ages well, transfer or no transfer.
• The player poster captures a moment: a gesture, a season, a career. It speaks more to the fan of one precise name.
• For a shared room, the club brings people together more widely. For a personal bedroom, the player tells a story.
• The 30x40 suits both; the 50x70 gives the portrait all its presence.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

• With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
• Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
