Posters river
A river brings gentle movement to the wall: winding meanders, tree-lined banks, reflections that mirror the landscape. Between lively mountain water and a calm stream, each scene creates a different mood depending on the room and the light on the wall.
Choosing the right river poster
Which river poster to choose?
The river comes in several forms, from calm reflections to the force of a torrent, and each scene creates a different mood on a wall:
- River seen from above: wide meanders, sinuous curves, aerial view of the waterway.
- Wooded banks and riverbanks: trees leaning over the water, light filtered through the foliage.
- Reflections on the water: mirror-like surface, symmetry between sky and river.
- Mountain river: fast-flowing water, rocks, a torrent running down between the slopes.
- Autumn waterway: morning mist, coloured foliage along the banks.
- Black and white river print: strong contrast, visible grain, a more graphic result.
The filters on the left narrow the choice by dominant colour, style and room.
Where to hang a river poster?
- Living room: a wide meander in horizontal format, above the sofa.
- Bedroom: soft reflections or a morning mist, for a calm mood above the bed.
- Home office: a mountain river, as a reminder of fresh air near the screen.
- Dining room: a wooded bank, in keeping with wooden furniture.
- Hallway: a series of black and white rivers, in the same format.
River poster in horizontal or vertical format?
A meander seen from above or a wide bank suits a horizontal format, matched to the width of the wall. A narrow waterway between two banks, with trees rising towards the top of the frame, works better in a vertical format. The 100x140 polyptych spreads a river panorama across several frames, for a living room wall. A 21x30 format suits a narrow river, combined with other posters in a gallery wall.
Poster, print or canvas: what's the difference?
The three words usually mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available as a metal print, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into a frame you already have.
