Posters amphora
Amphora as seen by our artists: the terracotta jars, the olive branches and the white roofs of the Cyclades. Each poster is a personal reading of the still life, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.
Choosing your amphora poster
Which amphora poster should you choose?
The amphora comes in several registers, from the most archaeological to the most refined:
- Antique amphora poster: black silhouette on an ochre background, Greek figure motif.
- Minimalist line amphora poster: fine outline, a single colour, read at a glance.
- Amphora and dried flowers still life: bouquet, branches, terracotta palette.
- Roman fresco style amphora poster: columns and ruins, sand and brick tones.
- Black-figure or red-figure amphora: reproduction of Greco-Roman ceramics, museum register.
- Botanical amphora poster: an antique vase paired with an olive or eucalyptus branch.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang antique wall decor?
- Living room: a large-format amphora, alone above the sofa.
- Dining room: an amphora and fruit still life, for a Mediterranean mood.
- Entrance: a black silhouette amphora, understated, right from the doorway.
- Bedroom: a botanical amphora, in soft tones.
- Office: a minimalist line amphora, discreet beside the screen.
Amphora poster: faithful reproduction or clean line?
The faithful reproduction restores the original motif, black or red figures on a clay ground, and suits an interior that owns a bold antique decor. The clean line keeps only the amphora's outline, without motif or background colour, and fits into a wall that is already busy. On a pale wall, the faithful reproduction carries more of the subject's promise. On a dark or already decorated wall, the clean line steps back to let the room breathe.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
