Posters animals
Animals seen by our artists: birds, cats, dogs, wildlife and naturalist plates. An animal print works in a living room as well as in a child's room. Every print is made to order in our workshop in Fayence, on 270 g photo paper with a semi-matte finish.
Choosing your animal print
Which animal poster should you choose?
- Animal portrait: cat, dog, horse or wolf, framed tightly on the gaze.
- Wildlife: tiger, bear, gorilla or zebra, in black and white or raw colour.
- Farm animals: cow, rabbit, deer, a settled country scene.
- Birds and flamingos: graphic silhouettes, often on a pale ground.
- Sea creatures: whale or another dweller of the depths, vertical or horizontal.
- Humorous poster: an animal turned around, a wink that cuts against the rest of the wall.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang an animal poster?
- Child's bedroom: a jungle or forest animal scene, soft and colourful.
- Living room: a portrait of a horse or a wolf in a large size, alone above the sofa.
- Office: a humorous poster, to loosen a wall that is too serious.
- Entrance: a series of birds or animal silhouettes, plain and graphic.
- Dining room: a farm scene or an animal in black and white, which stays discreet.
Tip: an animal in close-up carries further than a busy scene. On a wall that is already occupied, prefer a simple portrait to a composition with several subjects.
Animal poster in black and white or in colour?
- Black and white brings out the texture: coat, feathers, gaze. It goes with almost any wall.
- Colour sets the tone of a whole room and asks for a more neutral wall around it.
- For a series of several posters, keep a single treatment: all black and white, or all colour, never the two mixed.
- The 30x40 suits a portrait on its own; the 50x70 lets a wider animal scene breathe.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
