Posters Cologne

Cologne as seen by our artists: the Rhine, its bridges and the city stretching behind. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your Cologne poster

Which Cologne poster should you choose?

Cologne comes in several distinct registers, each carried by a recognisable place or mood:

  • Cologne Cathedral poster: the Gothic spire of the Kölner Dom, seen head-on or from below.
  • Hohenzollern Bridge poster: love locks fastened to the railing, the Rhine below.
  • Cologne old town poster: coloured façades of the Altstadt, quays and cobbled lanes.
  • Cologne map poster: a stylised plan of the city, districts and the bend of the Rhine.
  • Cologne skyline poster: a night-time silhouette, the illuminated cathedral, reflections on the water.
  • Cologne carnival poster: bright colours and crowds, for a more festive mood.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Cologne poster?

  • Living room: the cathedral in a large size, alone above the sofa.
  • Office: a map of Cologne, understated beside the screen.
  • Entrance: the night skyline, to set the tone from the doorway.
  • Bedroom: the Hohenzollern Bridge in soft tones, never too busy a view.
  • Hallway: a series of two or three identical sizes, same subject, same framing.

Cologne cathedral poster or Cologne map poster?

The cathedral speaks to those who keep a precise memory of the place, a spire seen for real from the square or the Rhine. The map suits a wall that needs to stay neutral, in an office or a shared entrance: it names the city without imposing a single image. For a gift tied to a trip, the figurative view of the cathedral or the bridge stands out more. For a wall arrangement that has to match rooms already hung, the map fits in more easily.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
